My Claymation

For the 1st quarter's big project, our class had to make a claymation about an European explorer. My friend and I chose the Spanish explorer Christopher Columbus, who is famously known for finding the new world. Our movie follows the life of Christopher Columbus. I hope you will enjoy our movie.

The most enjoyable part for me had to be the whole project. I got to do this project with my best friend, Hayden Nichols, which made the experience much more enjoyable. One of my favorite things Hayden and I did was that we put a little fun in our movie. If you see in the First Voyage scene, we put a little figure in the water and made it so that he got eaten by a shark. We also put a little subliminal message in our "Back in Spain" scene. If you look carefully at the paintings in that scene, you'll see that the portrait of the king looks like a real human. Then look at the queen's portrait. You'll probably notice that it looks like the clay model of the queen in that scene. I thought that that was funny.

One of the toughest part of this project for us was getting the scenes in on time. For the first scene, we had a full week to work on it. That was easy, but then scene 2 was due in 3 days. That was hard for us. Scene 2 and 4 were turned in late. Thankfully my mom had figured out a plan for us. We would take pictures way ahead of the due date, then we could do all the computer work at school. That really worked out for us. We also had a few technical problems. For all of our scenes, we had to individually change each photo to the set 0:00:03 seconds. That really sucked. For all the people that say that there is another way of changing all the pictures' set time at once I'm sorry but you're wrong. We proved about 7 people wrong in my class all the people that thought that they were right. So don't even try.

I think that the most important thing that I learned was patience. There was something going wrong all the time. Sometimes it would be that our clay was getting too hot in Hayden's room, so we had to put them in the freezer. It would also be some technical problems, too. Another part of patience I learned was for the 300 and something pictures we had to take for one scene. Luckily I had Hayden who was my partner because he is really good at the claymation stuff. The last thing that got on my nerves was that stupid recording delio. Whenever we would finish recording, I would click the "stop record" button and it would slice off half the whole recording! We had to make the same recording about 5 times. That was really annoying.

I really hope you will enjoy our movie about Christopher Columbus. It will suck if you don't because we put so much time into this project. I even skipped parts of basketball practice just for your entertainment. So please enjoy this movie.

Eminem is one of my favorite rappers in the music industry. Here are my top five songs by him. 5-"Without Me" 4-"Lose Yourself" 3-"Real Slim Shady" 2-"Like Toy Soldiers" and the number one song that I like by Eminem is "When I'm Gone." These are all really great songs by him. Here is a little more information of Eminem. His real name is Marshall Bruce Mathers III, but he goes by Slim Shady or his main stage name Eminem. His has won many awards such as an Academy award winning and Grammy winning rapper. He is married to Kim Scott and they have a daughter named Hallie. He isn't afraid to say anything in his songs. He sings about his life including his mom, Kim, and Hallie. The song "When I'm Gone" is partly about his daughter, Hallie.

Adventure Ed Trip

This whole week, I did not go to school. I actually went to the Washington Coast. I woke up at 5:00 AM on Sunday morning and took a shower because I knew I was going to get really dirty. I got to the school, got on the bus then headed off to the Washington Coast. I fell asleep twice on the bus ride. It was a really long bus ride. When we finally got to the south end at Rialto Beach I had to pack my bear can. Then we set off on the hike. In the beginning it felt very strange walking on the beach with a 30 pound backpack. Then I just got really used to walking with it. I think we hiked about 4.5 miles on the first day to the first camp site. Since I don't have enough time to talk about my great adventure on this trip. I guess I will talk about one of my favorite part of the trip. It was when Mitchell and I were right up in the front, concentrating on not slipping on the logs when Mr. Davis tells us to suddenly stop. Frightened of being in trouble, we looked up to Mr. Davis then we turned back around to be surprised to see a very big black bear staring right us about 75 yards in front of us. We started backing up 'till we got back with the group. I really liked sharing this experience with my friends. I thought that it was a really enjoyable trip.

My Life? Graph!

This is my life graph. This shows 10 positive and 10 negative moments in my life. My favorite event that happened to me is when I made the 7th grade basketball team. During the beginning of the try-outs I was very nervous. After a while I started to become more confident. Luckily I made the team. It turned out that I made the spot for floater, which gets to play both J.V and Varsity. One of my best games I ever played was my 2nd game ever in Granite Falls. I had only gone in at the middle of the 3rd quarter, and the middle of the 4th quarter. I made my first basket of the game with an easy fast break layup. Then i got a pass from Patrick Monell on the left side, then cut into the middle and went for the layup. I made the layup and got fouled. Then i made the layup. The same thing happened on my next layup, then made my free throw. At the end of the game I had a total of 8 points, the most i ever made during the season.

History of karate

I am not much of a fan of karate, but i know most of my readers are. I decided to write my second entry about karate. Most Western students of Asian martial arts, if they have done any research on the subject at all, will surely have come across references to Bodhidharma. He is known as "Daruma" in Japan and as often as not, this Indian Buddhist monk is cited as the prime source for all martial arts styles or at the very least, for any style which traces its roots back to the fabled Shaolin Temple. However, the question of his contributions to the martial arts and to Zen Buddhism and even of his very existence has been a matter of controversy among historians and martial arts scholars for many years. That is a quick history of karate. If you want to learn more go to http://www.karateinternational.net/karatehistory.php. It is a great website for karate.

My life

As you know my name is Guy. On this edition of Jo-jo Spinkowsky's world of blogging official post #1 I will talk to you about my life. My interests are not tuna and tuna sandwiches, but they are soccer, tennis, basketball, piano, and music. I am currently in the 8th grade attending Langley Middle School.
During the summer of 2008 i went to Florida. The activities i had participated in Florida are that i went scuba diving, air boat riding, swimming, went to the gulf of Mexico, and i saw many alligators. Where i saw the alligators was at this place called Wakula. It is a very famous place where very old movies were filmed. Films such as "The Creature from the Black Lagoon." That is one of many things i did at my trip to Florida.
One of my favorite things in life is music. I really enjoy listening to music. I like all kinds of music like hip-hop and rap, rock, alternative, r&b soul, metal, and country. There are three rappers i really like. They are Shwayze, Eminem, and Kanye West. The reason i really like them is that they all got their own style. Shwayze is more acoustic rap, Eminem raps about his life, the though times, and just kinda weird stuff, and Kanye West isn't hardcore rap crap.
